The story behind the photo (2)

Today, it’s the Turnberry Lighthouse near a golf course. The shot is taken towards the lighthouse through a narrow path way after you crossed a golf course. Don’t worry, despite people teeing off, you’re safe. As long as you don’t hang around and risk a ball hitting your head or other body parts.

Turnberry Lighthouse

This here is a bird’s eye view of how it looks like from the sky. As you can see this is the reward of risking life and limb to get to this beautiful location. While I was there there were around 20 people playing holes around me, which was an entertaining experience.

The weather was lovely and with it being only around 53 miles from Glasgow, it was an easy visit during the weekend to take some amazing photos and to get a bit of sun. And to end this series photo number 2, some historic information on this beautiful structure.

Turnberry Lighthouse is a historic lighthouse located on the rugged Ayrshire coast in Scotland. Built in 1873 by the famous Stevenson family of lighthouse engineers, it stands on the site of the ancient Turnberry Castle, believed to be the birthplace of Robert the Bruce. The lighthouse offers stunning views of the Firth of Clyde and the Isle of Arran. It's now part of the Trump Turnberry Resort, where it serves as an iconic landmark and luxury accommodation. The lighthouse is a significant feature on one of the resort's championship golf courses, adding to its picturesque charm.
